Some silver compounds are substances such as silver chloride (AgCl), silver bromide (AgBr), and silver iodide (AgI). All of these compounds are used in photography. Silver chloride is a light-sensitive material that is used in photographic printing papers. Silver iodide is also used in the manufacture of photographic films and paper. All three of these come from silver nitrate (AgNO3), which is also the starting material in the production of silver cyanide (which is used in silver plating).
